So here it is... back after almost a year... The last time I opened my blog and wrote a piece (सरकारी प्रेम कहानी) was Sept. 20th, 2017...
It was a lazy noon of Sunday and Vikas was tired of being home for the last four days. He had no one to talk to and nothing to do in these four days. So this Sunday evening he decided to call his old friends... but which old friends? On the journey of accomplishing the Busy Professional tag, he had lost contact of almost everyone from his university. But in the desire to talk with some old friends, he started scrolling down his 600-contacts phonebook, and all of sudden his finger stopped at the name of a person whom he met only once in 2015. This name was
"Shama Khan, Noida"
He paused for a minute and scenes from 2015 started to run through his mind. Shama Khan, The same Shama Khan who was not merely his Facebook friend but also a senior in the industry, made his finger stop at the phonebook. In 2015, when Vikas was in his second year of college and interned for a media house, Shama was working with a well-reputed company. They started chatting through Facebook and met once but after that meeting they never had words.

He took a deep breath and dialed "Shama Khan, Noida" and it started ringing... He was not sure what he was about to say but he wanted to listen to something, talk something... and there she was busy in her office, preparing for her new project. Her phone rang and busy Shama answered it in the middle of a team meeting,
"Hello"
"Shama...?" he said in dubious sound.
"Ji..."
"Vikas, Pehchana..."
"Vikas, Vikas Shukla? "
"Hey, how are you... where have you been...?
and then there was joy, a joy of talking with an old Facebook friend!
She left the meeting mid-way and they kept talking for an hour. The same Vikas who had no idea what he would say, had a lot of stories to share with her.
The duo hadn't seen each other for more than two years and this phone call was a bridge between them. This bridge proved to be an existent when the phone call ended with a consensus to meet next Saturday.
So what happened next? Did they meet or did someone step down at the last moment? Read all this in the next blog...
